Announcements:
Rich, Jud and Pres John attemded the District Assembly. Jeff Pelkey will
be the new District Governor and Leanne Hussey will follow.
District Conference will be held on June 5th, 6th and 7th, in Rockport,
ME. There is a one-day registration fee of $50 for Saturday if you can't
commit to the entire weekend.
Roadside Clean up is May 2nd. Please email Sean to volunteer.
Camp Sunshine and Bill D are looking for volunteers to clean up the
fallen trees and brush.
Bobcat Bolt is May 9th. 5-10K: a road race to honor Nate and Josh Hardy of
Durham, to raise funds for an after school program in their names. Our club
has donated $250 and we need volunteers. Please see Sandy.
Jud updated us on our Club Foundation goal and Polio Plus Goal. By the
time he finished the update, the goals were met! (Thanks Chuck!)
Scott remined everyone of the need for 4th of July Sponsorships.

Program:
LT H Scowron and ENS D Couture, Coast Guard cutter Reliance
LT. Scowdron enlisted in the CG in 1998. In 2002 she graduated from Officer Candidate School. While stationed in Alaska she completed 2 years of training as a Naval Engineer, and she is now the Enginer Officer aboard the Reliance. ENS Couture graduated form the USCG Academy in May 2008. He currently serves abord the Reliance as the Assistant Navigator and Weapons Officer.
They presented a slide show highlighting the careers and assets of the Coast Guard as well as an overview of the Coast Guard cutter Reliance. The Reliance covers the eastern seaboard from Canada to South America handling maritime safety, security , national defense and protecting our natural resources.
