Announcements:

Anita Mathur.  She is an organizer of Bobcat Bolt, also initiator of the Oyster River HS Alummi Assn.  She recieved our check ($250) from Pres. John with thanks.  She spoke about the race and festivities which will go toward building a youth center in Durham.  Web site of the alumni assn is www.oralumni.org.

 

Pres. John.  Mentioned email from Elliot Moore re: Quackfest.  They need a pickup truck and driver.  John will send out an email on this. 

 

Sandy.  Will inform volunteers for Bobcat Bolt.  Folks who have indicated availability should contact Sandy for assignments.

 

Ric.  GSE is all set with transport.  Went over schedule (broadly).

 

Sean.  Roadside cleanup (w/ Rotoract kids) netted 64 bags of trash.

 

Happy Bucks:

Spoke on "Understanding Today's Finanacial Crisis"  We're in a serious problem, worst since WWII, but nowhere near Great Depression degree. Unemployment now at 8.5%.  But US is a resilient economy and the dollar is the world's currency.  This is a global phenomenon. Why did this happen? Perfect financial storm.
