Program:
Katie Gillis, Account Executive, Dawn Solar Systems, Brentwood
Dawn Solar went commercial in 2004, and has been providing solar electric
and solar thermal products to customers worldwide. Photo-voltaic systems
can be grid-tied or off-the-grid (have battery backup). At this point, solar
thermal is more cost-effective, but there is a great deal of potential for solar
electric. She described a large number of system configurations which can
be created with the technology employed by Dawn Solar. These systems can be installed around any manner of architectural detail, so installations are engineered on a project-by-project basis. Easily scalable, the technology
can also be employed in commercial and industrial solar energy projects. These systems have very low maintenace and operational costs. Systems are hidden and protected from the elements, so should last up to 50 years,
or two to five times the life-span of competive systems.
