The Board will have its regular monthly meeting next Tuesday at 5 PM at Mariner Realty.

Ric                      The telephone and email listing which Don has been providing for some months is discontinued.  The listing is available on the website in the Member Area and can be printed.  Members can update their information directly by clicking on "Edit my Profile".   Email info must be kept current in order to continue receiving the Dinghy.

Also in the Member Area is a new feature - Henry's financial report, both Operational and Charitable.

Program

Chip Noon, Classification Talk

Chip has been knocking about in Rotary for some years.  He's been a member of clubs in Portsmouth, two clubs in Florida, and most recently Rochester.  He recalled that he proudly sponsored the first woman in the Portsmouth club soon after RI's rules allowed it.

We were treated to the family scrapbook to include his two grandchildren.  In passing, he mentioned that he was - no, is - an Eagle Scout.  He majored in English at Rutgers, took a masters in Counseling Psychology at Antioch in Keene, and got more smarts at Pisa University (est. 1343!).

His working life began with a stint in US Army Military Intelligence with a tour in Vietnam.  He is also a recovered politician having gone through the 12 step program.  He has tried his hand at health care, fundraising, marketing, organizational development, production management, campaign management, hospitality, arts and entertainment, and now Marketing and Public Relations.

His company, CS Noon Marketing and Communications serves the marketing needs of business in print and on the web.  As an example, he cited Touchpoints (the identification of where customers interact with a brand); one-way e.g. menus, two-way e.g. receptionist, and digital e.g. email, web presence, what customers are saying about you on social media - all essential to understand if you want to optimize your business's impression on your customer base.

For years, he has been singing.  He has sung with the Baltimore and Palm Beach opera companies, soloed at Carnegie Hall (funny story about a tune involving an anvil - received with critical acclaim), and many choral groups including Madelaine Gearhart's group here in Durham.

Megabucks:

Jud had the ticket but couldn't find the six of clubs.  $280 pot rolls over.

Upcoming Programs:

Sep 2                  Sean McDonnell, UNH Football

Sep 9                  Richard Weyrick, Oyster River Watershed Assoc.
