Announcements:

Bill D            Five businesses will be at Camp Sunshine demonstrating chippers and we will be there chipping on Tuesday.

 

Scott            Durham Appreciation Day is Friday, October 9.

 

Henry          $1700 will be put in the Bill Wilson Fund.  The Fund currently has about $50,000.

 

                    He has sent $4,000 to TRF for our Egypt hospital project.  TRF will match our's, the District's, and the Cairo club's contributions.

 

                    Dues are due for those who have not paid yet.

 

Ron             Youth and Vocational Service committee needs volunteers to serve as club mentors for the Interact clubs of Oyster River and Newmarket.

Dick            Daughter's work with the Red Cross, and its assistance to earthquake victims.

Program:

Gerald Sedor, Covered Bridges

Gerald is a retired Navy Captain and is presently the Associate Director of the Marine Program at UNH.  He has photographed almost all of the covered bridges in New England.  He presentation was a slide display of the bridges and a short lesson in the various engineering designs of the covered bridges.

 

The longest in New England is the Windsor-Cornish at 460 feet.  That bridge is the longest double span in the world.  The longest is in Hartland, New Brunswick.  PA has the most covered bridges at 222.

 

Megabucks:

Bob M had the ticket but couldn't find the card.  The pot rolls over.
