Announcements:

• Pres. Rich     Read letter from re her wounded grandson from Ruth Wilson, who extends her thanks to the club for our card and concern. Thanked club for roadside cleanup where approx 45 bags were collected.
• Bill                We have a membership card for Matthew Bixby and will soon have one for Bryant Trombley.  We have new brochures on how to propose new members.
• John W          Lindt Chocolate in Stratham has an open house today.
• Henry            Rotary scholarships were awarded to Newmarket HS students last Friday, and will be to OR HS students tomorrow.
• Alison            Next week's speaker:  Marc Broussard of Renewable Energy.

Happy Bucks:

• John W         World Cup.
• Pres. Rich    Roadside cleanup.  We must go earlier next year to avoid the poison ivy and beat the mowing machines.  Visit of older brother.
• Bill                Escorted another Honor Flight of WW2 vets to DC, including a submarine radar operator.
• John B          Excellent flyer for Independence Day thanks to John R.  Also for Alison's daughter's enthusiasm on roadside cleanup.
• Jud               For John B's offer to manage the 4th of July event this year.
• Jan               For the genealogy discussion at her table.
• Alison           For gardening with her daughter.
• Pete              For missing the cleanup due to eye surgery.  Also for going up to Moosehead Lake.

Club Forum on Independence Day Preparations

John B chaired the discussion which amounted to the fact that lots of help is needed to make this a success (think Game 7). The requirements include activities that must happen before, during, and after the 4th.

Before -

     - Invite past district governor who will face paint - (Pres. Rich)

     - Reserve Newmarket Militia - Jud

     - Meet w/ UNH - Pres. Rich

     - Order new flag stickers - Pres. Rich

     - Announcements on local media - Chip

     - Tents. tables, and chairs - Dave L

     - Prep children's program - Alison & Chip - open discussion of options

     - Prep PSA's to be used on the day by Andy Schacht - Chip

     - Organize glowstick sales - Dave L

During -  (4 PM set-up; 9:15 fireworks)

     - Set up barriers - John B

     - Tent/table set up - All

     - Hang up vendor banners - All

     - Assist Andy Schacht - as needed

     - Collect $ at gates (wear Rotary shirts) - as assigned

     - Collect $ from outliers - Dave L

     - Breakdown tables and tents after fireworks - All

After - (5 July)

     - Clean-up - All

     - Take down signs for return to vendors - All

Megabucks:

Henry had the ticket but couldn't find the winning card.  $52 pot rolls over.
