AG Larry Marsolais: On behalf of District, he presented President Andy with the Pyramid of Peace Award in recognition of the work the club has done in the Rotary Foundation's Six Areas of Focus this past year ... Seacoast Seafood Festival is on the calendar after Labor Day. The Hampton club will be extending an invitation again to work the beer tent.
PE Tom B: The Friends of Hyder House Hospice is looking for a $250 donation ... We'll have a place in Durham's Memorial Day parade and will be carrying the new banner. Russ will be the Grand Marshall. Parade starts at 9:30 AM.
John: We approved $2,250 to cover the fees for six RYLA applicants. Seems there aren't six applicants after all, so we approved funding for three applicants and $1,000 for a single scholarship.
Bill: Collected 38 bags of trash last Wednesday with a solid turnout of 13 members. Deer head may have been the most unique item.
Russ: Made a short report on the cost of a Knox Box - about $150.
Will: Reported progress on prep for the 4th of July. We've collected about $22,000 in pledges, and banked $3,400 of that. He estimates the total cost will be about $26,800, so we've got a ways to go. AG Larry donated an half-page ad in his Seacoast newspaper.
Pres. Andy: There will be a board meeting immediately after this regular meeting to discuss the final draft of the bylaws ... Reminded everyone that there will not be a meeting next Wednesday, May 30th.
Editor: Tom T and George are on for Bingo on May 31st ... Looks like Tom T is next up for breakfast on June 6th.
